Necropolis and Vault 13:

Necropolis

After taking care of the Brotherhood of Steel, head over to Necropolis. Once you arrive there you should head to the north where you will find a manhole cover surrounded by Ghouls. Take out the Ghouls and open the manhole cover and go in. Now you are in the sewers. From here on there will be several areas that have monsters, big rats and what not to kill, if you feel like taking these creatures out by all means do so, but I will cover the overall view of this area and important things that need to be done and leave some of the less important details up to you.

Head north and take your first left passage then take take the next passage heading north into the next area. There you will find the ghoul leader. Talk to him for a while and you can ask him about the water chip and it's possible location he will try to convince you to help fix their water pump before you take the water chip. This is a good idea as it gains you some experience, first you need to find the parts for the pump.

Head to the right and then take the first passage to the north then you will come to an area where you can go left and north or right and north. If you go to the right you will find some monsters and some ghoul corpses, one of which has a plasma pistol on it. If you head to the left and go north you will go into another area.

In the next area there is a ladder to the northeast. Take this ladder to the surface you are now in the watershed area. Go out of the building and north to the manhole cover near the mutant standing in the road. Go down the manhole and back into the sewers under the watershed then go south then east, fight the creatures there, then head north and east again and the parts should be sitting on the ground in that general area. Once you have the parts you can go back to where the ghoul leader is located. He will give you some books to help your repair skill (so you can fix the pump) if the skill is not high enough otherwise he just tells you to get on with it and fix the pump. Head back to the watershed area where the mutants were. Head to the building north of the mutant in the road. Talk to the nightkin Harry who will interrogate you as to what you are doing. Make sure to save before doing this as you can bluff your way past him, but only if you choose the proper dialogue, and if your intelligence stinks then you might just have to fight through the mutants anyway. If you can convince Harry that you are a new form of robot then you gain some experience (I think you gain xp) for bluffing your way past him and the mutants won't bother you, otherwise just take them out. Also if you are talking to Harry you might come upon the option of asking to meet their leader, if you take this option you will automatically be transported to the third level of the military base where you will face off against the mutant lieutenant, this is not a good idea at this point since you are probably not tough enough to take him out, but you could give it a go, I'll outline how to destroy the military base later on.

The water pump is in the upper right hand corner of the room to the east. Use the parts on the pump and if your repair skill is good enough the pump will start running again. Then head to the south past the water tanks and talk to the ghoul that is locked up in the middle cell. He will give you some info about where the water is coming from if you let him out and you gain some xp. If you can't let him out (your lockpick stinks) then just go to the door on the far right and open it and head down through the manhole there. Down below is a Vault! Surprise, surprise right? Take out the glowing ghouls that are in your way and head into the Vault. Go down the elevator to the third floor and head over to the east where the command center is located. Take out the ghouls that are in your way and then use the computer that is still operating over to the east and you will obtain a new water chip!

Miscellaneous

There are some other things you can do in the Necropolis, one of which is talk to Set the ghoul that the ghoul leader in the sewers talks about, he is located above ground right above the ghoul's base in the sewers. Take a ladder up from that area and you will find yourself in the area where Set and his ghouls are located. If you come up from a certain manhole you will find yourself in a room inside the building with no doors. There is a secret door to the south on the west wall that can be found if you search for traps (or if your Perception is high) and then you have to lockpick it before you can open it. In general there is not much to Set he doesn't help you out at all, all he offers to you is a reward if you take out the mutants in the watershed area. There is not much to his reward although killing the mutants in the watershed does give you added experience, so if you are tough enough you might as well take them out. The other thing to do is take out Set and his helpers, I don't think that you lose karma in fact you might gain some, by this time they should not be much of a challenge for you.

Vault 13

Head back to Vault 13 and present the water chip to the Overseer in the command center. He is located in far east section of the third level. Your quest is done right? Not yet, now you need to head back out and find out where the mutant threat is coming from. Next will be the Boneyard.
